This is Rohit Sharma, student at Skyline Business School, Gurgaon.

We attend a seminar on marketing and product launch. We came to know about important techniques and various things which we have to keep in mind before any product launch. We understood that when there is a need of product launch we have to conduct market research and need to collect demographic data, psychographic data and past behavior pattern of customers so that it could be utilize for better launch. We have to be very careful while making any launch that we are going for :-

‘INDUSTRY VISIT AT Maruti Suzuki India Limited'.

31st October 2009, MBA Marketing students from Skyline Business School went  for Maruti Suzuki India Limited visit at Gurgoan. Maruti Suzuki's facility in Gurgoan houses three fully integrated plants. While the three plants have a total installed capacity of 350,000 cars per year, several productivity improvements or shop floor Kaizens over the years have enabled the company to manufacture nearly 700,000 cars/ annum at the Gurgaon facilities.

The entire facility is equipped with more than 150 robots, out of which 71 have been developed in-house. More than 50 per cent of our shop floor employees have been trained in Japan.Their success can be proved from the fact that the company annually exports more than 50,000 cars and has an extremely large domestic market in India selling over 730,000 cars annually. More than half the cars sold in India are Maruti car .
  • The visit let us know the whole procedure of manufacturing cars which amazed us that a car can be manufactured in just 16 seconds.
  • We have seen the entire plant and learnt their production cycle.
  • We have seen the process layout and team dynamics  where every individual is doing his job dedicatedly.
  • The most interesting part is to see the robotics. It helps us to understand that how company is using Artificial Intelligence for quality production.
  • Our guide has explained the company’s quality parameters.
We are very thankful to Maruti Suzuki who gave us the opportunity to visit their plant with such a warm hospitality.
